Periodic Posts on Potential
In the future to be referred to as PPP. (Or maybe it should be PPoP. Or PPOP. Nah.)
A few days ago,I was given orders it was gently suggested by one of my sisters (aka, the bossy one) that I should be might enjoy taking pictures around the yard to post on my blog. Why didn't I think of that?! (I'm sure the bossy one knows I'm just teasing).
So, I went out to do just that (because I always do what I'm told). As I was taking pictures I started thinking about...

Commission, Create, Complete - part 3
The Story of a Quilt: Complete
com-plete (kuhm-pleet) vb. 1. to make whole or entire. 2. to bring to an end; finish.
Warning: If you're like me, you will not want to read this post until you've read parts 1 and 2. Do I read the inside flap of a book? Nope (sometimes I even cover up the next page to keep from accidentally getting a glimpse). Do I "stay tuned for scenes from our next episode" on T.V.? Not if I can help it (quick! where's the remote?). Yeah, I know, it's a little excessive, but I like the story to unfold sequentially.
And for this story, we're at the beginning of the end.

Commission, Create, Complete - part 2a
The Story of a Quilt: Create
cre-ate: (kree eyt) v. 1. to cause to come into being, as something unique that would not naturally evolve or that is not made by ordinary processes.
The first step in causing this quilt to come into being was constructing Chuck (I was pretty sure he wasn't going to naturally evolve).

Commission, Create, Complete - part 1
The Story of a Quilt: Commission
my second cousin my cousin once removed related to me) for his graduation from high school. Aunt Miriam had had quilts made for her first two granddaughters and wanted to keep the tradition going. Their quilts were beautiful picture quilts designed to compliment their personalities. As we discussed what would be appreciated by Ethan, we both agreed that something other than a picture quilt might be needed. Hmmm.

Several months ago, my aunt Miriam asked if I'd be interested in making a quilt that she could give to her grandson (my cousin's son, which makes himThursday, June 7, 2012
Ebeneezer & Florine
A.k.a. : Eb and Flo.
Flo on the left, Eb on the...other left |
These two kitties came to live with me about a year and a half ago. Brother and sister, they are about three years old.
Eb: "Sometimes I crack myself up!" Flo: "He's not that funny, trust me!" |
Eb: "Yeah, I am. I'm hilarious!" Flo: "How embarrassing!" |
Eb is definitely the friendlier and more outgoing of the two. Flo is very reserved. However, when it comes to new people or places, Flo is much quicker to explore and Eb; he's the biggest scaredy-cat you'll ever never meet. If only he knew what he was missing. He really loves attention. He's by my side most of the time, even crawling under the covers with me at night.

What's in a name?
This being my first post, I thought I'd share something that might give some insight as to how I chose the name of this blog (Yes, I have a problem with feeling the need to justify what I say and do, and worrying too much about what people think. I hope you don't mind that I shared that!). Anyway...
